Homework 1, week of 1/26 - 2/2

Take a brief look at the Appendix A1 and A2 of the text (Hoffmann/Bradley) to make sure you remember these basic material. Read also sections 1.1 and 1.2.

Get to learn the basics of your TI-83 graphing calculator. What you should particularly know about for this week is how to sketch the graph of a given function (entering the formula, choosing an appropriate window, getting the graph, locating the x-intercepts, etc). We will practice these in class when the time comes.

Read sections 1.4 and 1.5 of the text.
